The short answer

Circuit (now Spoke Route Planner) is the better app for most solo drivers; Route4Me is cheaper on a yearly plan. As of October 2026, both are free for 10 stops a route (Route4Me deletes free routes after 7 days) and $9.99 a month for unlimited stops. Route4Me Basic is $79.99 a year against Circuit's $119.99, but Circuit's app adds time windows and traffic. For teams, Spoke Dispatch lists prices from $125 a month; Route4Me's business plans are quote-only. EZRoutePlanner is a browser alternative from $20 a month.

Choose Route4Me if

  • you want the lowest yearly price: $79.99 for unlimited stops
  • you want photos, video, notes and signatures recorded at each stop
  • you'd like stop status and per-stop notes on the $19.99 Enhanced plan
  • you run a large fleet and want a sales-led platform with telematics and APIs

Choose Circuit if

  • you need delivery time windows, priority stops or breaks in the app itself
  • you want traffic considered when the app orders your stops
  • you load your day by voice, Apple Live Text or a photo of a printed manifest
  • you want team pricing you can read on a web page, from $125 a month

Choose EZRoutePlanner if

  • you plan at a computer, from a pasted list or a spreadsheet
  • you need more than 10 stops a route free (it takes 30)
  • you plan for several drivers and want each one to get a link, not an app

02

Which is the better app on the road, Route4Me or Circuit?

Both put a day's stops in order with one tap and guide you through them with built-in voice directions, so you can plan and drive without switching apps. The differences show up in how stops go in, what the optimizer respects, and what happens at the door.

  • Adding stops. Both take typed or spoken addresses and camera scans. Circuit also reads text with Apple Live Text and pulls addresses from a photo of a printed manifest. Route4Me's listing says you can upload a list; Circuit's spreadsheet import works only in its Android app, per Spoke's help center.
  • Time windows and traffic. Circuit lets you set delivery windows, priority stops, time at each stop and rest breaks, and Spoke says its routes avoid traffic. Route4Me's app plans don't list time windows (they're on its business platform), and Route4Me doesn't say whether the app plans around traffic.
  • At the stop. Route4Me's App Store listing describes photos, video, notes and signatures at each stop, and its $19.99 Enhanced plan adds marking stops visited or not visited. Spoke doesn't publish proof-of-delivery features for its solo app; Circuit lets you add package details to help load the van and find items.
  • Keeping routes. On Route4Me's free plan, each route is deleted after 7 days; Basic keeps them. Spoke lists unlimited routes on Circuit's free plan and doesn't mention an expiry.

Both apps are well liked. As of October 2026, Circuit has 4.7 stars from 10,786 US App Store ratings and Route4Me 4.6 from 12,333. Route4Me has been on the App Store since 2010, Circuit since 2017, and Circuit's listing says more than 10 million drivers have downloaded it.

Route4Me vs Circuit, feature by feature

Route4Me's column mixes its app and its business platform, so a paid mark there usually means a business plan. Circuit's column is the solo app; its team features are sold as Spoke Dispatch.

Route4Me's business platform vs Spoke Dispatch

Both companies keep the solo app cheap and sell team features separately. Their team products are sold in very different ways.

Route4Me's business platform is a web planner for dispatchers in three tiers: Route Optimization, Business Optimization and Enterprise Optimization. All three show "Contact us" instead of a price. Its comparison table puts dispatch, live GPS tracking, proof of delivery and customer emails in the entry tier; time windows and optimizing across several drivers start at Business Optimization. Text message notifications, recurring routes, commercial vehicle routing and avoidance zones are paid add-ons on every tier.

Spoke Dispatch, formerly Circuit for Teams, publishes its prices: $125 a month for 1,000 stops (then $0.04 a stop), $200 for 2,000 and $1,000 for 12,000, billed monthly with unlimited drivers. Every plan includes optimization across drivers with time windows, live tracking, proof of delivery and customer notifications, with texts billed at Twilio's rates. It also offers a free trial.

In practice, you can budget for Spoke Dispatch from its pricing page and try it before you talk to anyone, while Route4Me's platform starts with a sales conversation. Some Route4Me app reviewers in 2022 and 2023 describe a steep price jump from the roughly $10 app to the web platform, so if you expect to grow into it, ask for a quote early.

Monthly costs on all three. The solo apps are close; the gap opens once someone plans routes for other drivers, because only Spoke publishes a team price.

Route4Me and Circuit app prices as of October 2026, per person, through the App Store or Google Play. Planning at a desk? Where EZRoutePlanner fits

Route4Me and Circuit both put planning on the phone. In a browser, Route4Me offers its quote-based business platform, and its website links to ASAP Routes, a free desktop planner for 25 stops a project (50 once you register). Circuit's browser product is Spoke Dispatch.

EZRoutePlanner is a third option. It runs in any browser, on a computer or a phone: paste a list or import a spreadsheet (AI finds the address columns), optimize in one click, and share each route as a link or QR code that drivers open without an app. The free plan takes 30 stops a route. For a team, prices are public, from $20 a month, and set by the addresses you keep saved rather than by drivers or stops.

It does less than either company's team product: no time windows, live tracking, proof of delivery or customer texts, and no built-in navigation, since each stop opens in Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze. For a solo driver with new stops every day, either app costs less.
