MyRouteOnline vs EZRoutePlanner

Both plan routes in a browser. The real difference is what each address costs you, and that depends on how you route: the same customers each week, or new ones each day.

The short answer

MyRouteOnline is the better pick for a one-time job or for teams that need time windows and automatic splitting across drivers; EZRoutePlanner usually costs less when you route the same customers week after week. As of October 2026, MyRouteOnline has no ongoing free plan (a one-time 20-credit trial) and starts at $19 a month for 50 address credits, where each unique address uses a credit and is free to reuse for 30 days. EZRoutePlanner is free for 30 saved addresses and paid from $20 a month for 200.

Choose MyRouteOnline if

  • you plan one big day now and then: a $9 Same-Day package covers 50 addresses
  • your stops have time windows or service times
  • you want one list split across several drivers automatically
  • you route trucks, or need exports to TomTom or Garmin devices

Choose EZRoutePlanner if

  • you visit the same customers every week or month and don't want to pay for them again
  • you add lots of new stops every day and want a flat monthly price
  • you want a free plan that doesn't run out, or a discount for paying every 6 months
  • your drivers should get a link, not an app to install

01

How do MyRouteOnline credits work?

MyRouteOnline charges by address, not by user or driver. One unique address costs one credit, and the pricing page says "the same address can be reused within 30 days for no additional cost." Its FAQ adds that credits are used when an address is first geocoded, so re-planning the same stops inside that 30-day window is free.

There are three ways to buy credits:

  • Monthly plans renew every 30 days: Basic is 50 credits for $19, Classic 500 for $49, Premium 1,200 for $99. A plan's credits are valid for its 30-day period.
  • Pay-as-you-go packs last 12 months: Basic $24, Classic $69, Premium $119, Professional 6,000 credits for $399 and Business 15,000 for $799.
  • A Same-Day package is 50 credits for $9, and they expire 24 hours after you buy them.

Every plan includes every feature and unlimited users. What changes is the number of credits and how many stops one planning session can hold: up to 350 on Classic and Premium, 500 on Professional and 1,000 on Business. New accounts get a one-time trial of 20 credits with no credit card. Paid plans can be refunded within 7 days if you've used no more than half your credits and fewer than 100 of them.

What one MyRouteOnline credit costs, plan by plan

A credit gets cheaper as the pack gets bigger. Pay-as-you-go packs cost a little more than the matching monthly plan, but they last a year instead of 30 days.

Credits vs saved addresses: which model fits your routes?

EZRoutePlanner prices the other way around. You pay for how many addresses you keep in your Address Book at once, and a saved address can go into as many routes as you like for as long as you keep it. Starter is $20 a month for 200 saved addresses. Each plan also has a fair-use allowance of new addresses a month, three times its size on paid plans, so you can clear out yesterday's stops and add today's.

That makes the two models good at different things:

  • Regular customers. On MyRouteOnline, a customer you visit every week or two uses about one credit a month, because the free reuse lasts 30 days. On EZRoutePlanner, that customer is one saved address, however often you visit.
  • New addresses every day. MyRouteOnline charges a credit for each one. EZRoutePlanner counts them against the plan's monthly allowance of new addresses.
  • A single job. MyRouteOnline's $9 Same-Day package or a $24 pay-as-you-go pack is hard to beat if you plan one big day a year. EZRoutePlanner's free plan covers 30 stops a route; past that, it's a monthly plan you'd cancel afterward.

MyRouteOnline vs EZRoutePlanner: which costs less for your routes?

MyRouteOnline's pages describe free reuse "within 30 days", so we count a customer visited every week or two as about one credit a month (12 to 13 a year). Pay-as-you-go totals assume you buy packs as you run out. EZRoutePlanner prices are monthly, with 25% off billed every 6 months; plans are set by the addresses you keep saved, with a monthly allowance of new ones (3 times the plan size on paid plans, 30 on Free). Neither charges per user.

06

What MyRouteOnline does that EZRoutePlanner doesn't

MyRouteOnline is the more complete planner, and every plan gets all of it:

  • Time windows and service times, set per stop or imported with your spreadsheet.
  • Splitting stops across drivers. Upload one list, say how many routes you want, and it divides the stops, with optional limits on route duration or stops per driver, and territories.
  • Three optimization goals (shortest time, shortest distance or a balance), multi-day plans and a truck routing mode.
  • Exports to TomTom and Garmin devices, plus Excel, Google Maps, email and print.
  • Integrations: full API access on every plan, Zapier and WEBFLEET, and imports from Google Drive and Dropbox.

Drivers get their route by email or in the MyRoute app for iPhone and Android, which hands navigation to Waze, Google Maps or Apple Maps. The app is rated 4.3 on the App Store (80 ratings) and 3.3 on Google Play (260 reviews) as of October 2026. Its pricing page lists proof of delivery and live tracking on every plan, though the features page describes driver delivery tracking as an add-on, so ask before you count on it.

EZRoutePlanner keeps the planner smaller: one click to the shortest order by distance, a fixed start, and a round trip or a pinned last stop. It has no time windows, no automatic splitting (you lasso stops into routes on the map) and no truck mode. What it adds is an Address Book that keeps your customers between routes, and driver links that open in any phone browser.

The verdict: credits for occasional jobs, saved addresses for regular routes

MyRouteOnline and EZRoutePlanner are both browser route planners, but they bill for different things. MyRouteOnline charges for each address you plan, again after 30 days. EZRoutePlanner charges for the addresses you keep.

If you plan rarely, or you need time windows and automatic splitting across drivers, MyRouteOnline's credits make sense. If you route the same customers every week, or add lots of new stops every day, EZRoutePlanner usually costs less, and its free plan never runs out.

  • Planning one big day a year

    MyRouteOnline

    A $9 Same-Day package covers 50 addresses for 24 hours.

  • Service business with a regular customer list

    EZRoutePlanner

Each customer is saved once and routed as often as you like, starting free.

  • Dispatcher with delivery windows

    MyRouteOnline

Time windows, service times and automatic splitting across drivers on every plan.

  • Courier with new stops every day

    EZRoutePlanner

About 2,600 new stops a month fit the Standard plan at $40/mo, where MyRouteOnline charges a credit for each.

Questions people ask about MyRouteOnline

Is MyRouteOnline free?

No ongoing free plan. New accounts get a one-time trial of 20 address credits with no credit card, and the MyRoute phone app's free tier plans routes of up to 6 stops. After that, plans start at $19 a month for 50 credits, as of October 2026. EZRoutePlanner's free plan doesn't run out: 30 saved addresses and 30 stops a route.

How do MyRouteOnline address credits work?

One unique address uses one credit when it's first geocoded, and planning the same address again within 30 days is free. Credits come in monthly plans (50 for $19, 500 for $49, 1,200 for $99) or pay-as-you-go packs that last 12 months (from 50 for $24 up to 15,000 for $799). Users are unlimited on every plan.

Do MyRouteOnline credits expire?

Yes. Credits from a monthly plan are valid for its 30-day period. Pay-as-you-go packs are valid for 12 months, and the $9 Same-Day package's 50 credits expire 24 hours after purchase. EZRoutePlanner doesn't use credits: a saved address stays in your Address Book until you delete it.

How many stops can MyRouteOnline handle?

Up to 350 stops per planning session on Classic and Premium, 500 on Professional and 1,000 on Business, according to MyRouteOnline's FAQ. Basic doesn't state a session limit, but its 50 credits cap you at 50 unique addresses per 30 days. EZRoutePlanner takes 30 stops a route free and 200 on paid plans.

Does MyRouteOnline charge per user?

No. Every MyRouteOnline plan includes unlimited users and every feature; you pay only for address credits. EZRoutePlanner doesn't charge per user or driver either. It charges for the addresses you keep saved, and each driver gets the route as a link.

Is the MyRouteOnline Excel add-in still supported?

Not really. MyRouteOnline says its Excel add-in is no longer being actively developed, isn't supported on Office 365 and gets no troubleshooting help. It recommends importing Excel files into the web planner instead. In EZRoutePlanner you drop a CSV or Excel file into the browser and AI finds the address columns.

Does MyRouteOnline use Google Maps?

Yes. MyRouteOnline plans routes on Google Maps road data and exports finished routes to Google Maps, as well as to TomTom and Garmin devices and Excel. EZRoutePlanner also opens routes in Google Maps, split into links of 10 stops, and its driver link hands each stop to Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze.

What's a cheaper alternative to MyRouteOnline?

For regular customers, EZRoutePlanner: a saved address isn't charged again every 30 days, and plans start free (30 addresses) or at $20 a month for 200. For a single day of stops, MyRouteOnline's own $9 Same-Day package is cheap, and RouteXL is free for 20 stops a route.
