The short answer
Jobber is the better pick if you want one system for quotes, scheduling, invoicing and payments; EZRoutePlanner is for businesses that only need routes, including those on Jobber Core, which has no routing. As of October 2026, Jobber has no free plan, and route optimization starts on Connect at $139 a month ($99 billed yearly). EZRoutePlanner is free for 30 addresses and 30 stops a route, with paid plans from $20 a month, but it doesn't schedule, invoice or keep client records.
Choose Jobber if
- you want quotes, scheduling, invoicing and payments in one system
- your crews should see visits, job notes and checklists in one app
- you want GPS tracking and automatic client reminders
- you schedule recurring visits and want routes built from that schedule
Choose EZRoutePlanner if
- you're on Jobber Core, or another tool, and only need the drive put in order
- you don't need a CRM or invoicing, just routes for a list of addresses
- your crews shouldn't need a paid seat or an app to see their route
- you want to optimize from your phone, or plan a one-off route in minutes
01
Which Jobber plans include route optimization?
Connect, Grow and Plus. Core, Jobber's cheapest plan, has no route optimization and no GPS tracking. These are list prices as of October 2026, for one user (Plus starts at 5):
| Compared | Monthly, no commitment | Monthly, 1-year commitment | Billed yearly | Route optimization |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Core (1 user) | Monthly, no commitment$49 | Monthly, 1-year commitment$39 | Billed yearly$29 a month | Route optimizationNot included |
| Connect (1 user) | Monthly, no commitment$139 | Monthly, 1-year commitment$119 | Billed yearly$99 a month | Route optimizationYes, plus GPS tracking |
| Grow (1 user) | Monthly, no commitment$199 | Monthly, 1-year commitment$169 | Billed yearly$149 a month | Route optimizationYes, plus Find a Time |
| Plus (5 users) | Monthly, no commitment$499 | Monthly, 1-year commitment$439 | Billed yearly$399 a month | Route optimizationYes |
From Jobber's pricing page and its plan comparison table, checked October 21, 2026. Connect, Grow and Plus also come in larger team sizes (Connect for 5 users is $199, $169 or $149), and each extra user is $29 a month. Jobber sometimes runs discounts for new customers; these are its list prices.
02
Jobber runs the business; EZRoutePlanner plans the drive
Jobber and EZRoutePlanner aren't the same kind of software, and it helps to be clear about that before comparing prices. Jobber is field service management software, used by more than 400,000 home-service pros by its own count. It runs the back office:
- Requests, online booking and quotes
- Scheduling and dispatch on one calendar for the whole team
- Invoicing, online payments and a client hub for your customers
- A CRM of clients and properties, with job notes, photos and, from Connect, checklists
- From Connect up: automatic client reminders, GPS tracking, and QuickBooks Online or Xero sync
EZRoutePlanner does one of those jobs. It puts a list of addresses in the best driving order and gets the route to whoever drives it. It doesn't schedule, quote, invoice, take payments or keep client records, and it doesn't connect to Jobber.
So if you're choosing software to run a service business, compare Jobber with other field service suites, not with EZRoutePlanner. This page is for two other situations: you're on Jobber Core (or another tool) and want routes without paying for Connect, or routes were all you needed in the first place. See how EZRoutePlanner works for landscapers, pest control and pool service.
03
How does Jobber's route optimization work?
Jobber optimizes visits that are already on its schedule. Per Jobber's help center (article updated July 31, 2026):
- It runs on Jobber.com. Route optimization "must be done on Jobber.com rather than the Jobber app." Crews see the new order in the app and get a push notification when it changes.
- Only anytime visits move. Visits with no set start and end time are reordered. Visits booked for a set time stay where they are.
- Up to 7 days at once. Optimize one team member, a group or the whole team, for a single day or up to a week.
- Start and end points per person. Each crew member can start and finish at home, the shop or anywhere else, and you can keep the first or last visit fixed.
- Driving distance. The help article says Jobber uses "actual driving distance between stops, rather than straight-line distance." Earlier in 2026, some users on Jobber's community forum said routes were worked out as the crow flies; the current help article describes driving distance.
Jobber doesn't mention traffic, and it doesn't publish a limit on visits per route.
EZRoutePlanner works from a list instead of a schedule. Paste addresses, import a CSV or Excel file, or pick saved customers on the map, then press Optimize Route. It keeps your start fixed, can finish back at the start or at a pinned last stop, and finds the shortest order by distance, with no traffic and no time windows. It runs in any browser, on a phone as well as a computer.
04
Using EZRoutePlanner alongside Jobber Core
Core costs $49 a month ($29 billed yearly) and has no route optimization. Moving up to Connect for routing costs $139 a month ($99 billed yearly). EZRoutePlanner's Starter plan is $20/mo for up to 200 saved customers, and up to 30 fit the free plan. The two don't sync, so this works best when you only need the drive optimized:
- 1
Save your customers once
Paste their addresses, or import a spreadsheet, into EZRoutePlanner's Address Book. AI finds the address columns, every customer lands on the map, and any address it isn't sure about is flagged.
- 2
Keep scheduling in Jobber
Book visits, send quotes and invoice in Jobber Core as you do now. The day's list of customers comes from your Jobber schedule.
- 3
Build the day's route
Each morning, click the day's customers on the map or draw a lasso around them, create a route from your shop or home, and press Optimize Route.
- 4
Send it to the crew
Share the route as a link or QR code. The crew opens it in their phone's browser, with no app, login or Jobber seat, and taps Navigate to open each stop in Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze.
- 5
Close out in Jobber
Mark visits complete and send invoices in Jobber as usual. If the visit order matters on your Jobber calendar, drag the visits into the same order there.

What routing costs in Jobber and in EZRoutePlanner
If you'd use all of Jobber, its price buys far more than routes. These rows price one thing: what it takes to get optimized routes in each.

|---|---|---|

Jobber list prices as of October 2026, monthly with no commitment unless noted; extra users are $29 a month. Jobber's price includes quoting, scheduling, invoicing and the rest of its suite; EZRoutePlanner's covers routes only. EZRoutePlanner prices are monthly, with 25% off when billed every 6 months, set by the addresses you keep saved plus a fair-use allowance of new ones each month. Its free plan has unlimited routes but holds one at a time, so two or more crews out at once need a paid plan. Drivers and crew cost nothing extra.

What Jobber does better, and where EZRoutePlanner fits better
Where Jobber is stronger
- A whole back office: requests, quotes, scheduling, invoicing, payments and a client hub.
- Routes built from the schedule itself, up to 7 days at once for the whole team, with crews notified of changes.
- GPS tracking, automatic client reminders and QuickBooks Online or Xero sync from Connect up.
- Crew apps with job details, notes, photos and checklists.
- A large, established vendor: 4.8 stars from more than 21,000 App Store ratings.
Where EZRoutePlanner is stronger
- A free plan with 30 stops a route and 30 saved addresses; Jobber has none.
- Routing from $20 a month, against $139 for Jobber Connect, with no per-user fee.
- Crews open a route as a link with no app, login or seat.
- Optimize from any browser, phone included. Jobber optimizes only on Jobber.com.
- Paste any list or import a spreadsheet and optimize in minutes, with no client records or scheduled jobs needed.
- CSV, Excel and PDF route sheets, plus Google Maps links.
09
Should you pay for Jobber Connect just for routing?
If you want one system to book, schedule, invoice and get paid, Jobber is a strong choice, and routing on Connect and up is a reasonable part of that bundle. EZRoutePlanner can't replace it.
If routing is the only reason to move from Core to Connect, it's an expensive way to get it: $90 a month more on monthly billing ($70 billed yearly). EZRoutePlanner adds routing next to Core from $20 a month, or free for up to 30 customers. And if you never needed the rest of Jobber, EZRoutePlanner on its own is the simpler buy.

Questions people ask about Jobber
Does Jobber Core have route optimization?
No. As of October 2026, Jobber's plan comparison lists routing and GPS tracking as not available on Core ($49 a month, or $29 billed yearly). Route optimization starts on Connect ($139 a month, or $99 billed yearly) and is also on Grow and Plus. If you're on Core and only need routes, EZRoutePlanner can sit alongside it, free for up to 30 addresses.
How much does Jobber cost with route optimization?
$139 a month for Connect with one user, as of October 2026, or $119 with a 1-year commitment, or $99 a month billed yearly. Connect for 5 users is $199 a month ($149 billed yearly), and each extra user is $29 a month. Grow and Plus also include routing and cost more. The free trial lasts 14 days and needs no credit card.
Is there a free version of Jobber?
No. Jobber dropped its free plan in 2025 and now offers a 14-day free trial with Grow's features and no credit card. EZRoutePlanner has a free plan with no trial clock: 30 stops a route and 30 saved addresses, with unlimited optimizing and sharing. It only plans routes, though; it doesn't schedule or invoice.
Can you optimize routes in the Jobber app?
No. Jobber's help center says route optimization "must be done on Jobber.com rather than the Jobber app." Crew members see the optimized order in the app and get a push notification when it changes. EZRoutePlanner optimizes in any browser, so you can build and optimize a route on your phone.
How many days can Jobber optimize at once?
Up to 7. Jobber's help center says you can optimize a single day or up to 7 days at once, for one team member, a group or the whole team. Only anytime visits (no set start and end time) are reordered; visits booked for a set time stay where they are.
Can I use EZRoutePlanner with Jobber?
Yes, side by side, but they don't connect. EZRoutePlanner has no Jobber integration, so you save your customers in its Address Book once (paste or import them) and build each day's route there. It works best when you only need the drive optimized; Jobber's calendar won't update from EZRoutePlanner.
What's a cheaper alternative to Jobber for route planning?
For routes alone, EZRoutePlanner: free for up to 30 addresses, then from $20 a month, with no per-user fees. Jobber's routing starts at $139 a month on Connect. If you also need quotes, scheduling and invoicing, you're comparing field service suites instead, because EZRoutePlanner doesn't do those.
Does Jobber route by driving distance or a straight line?
By driving distance, according to Jobber's help article updated July 31, 2026, which says it uses actual driving distance between stops rather than straight-line distance. Earlier in 2026, some users on Jobber's community forum said routes were worked out as the crow flies. Jobber doesn't mention traffic, and neither does EZRoutePlanner, which orders stops by distance.
