Routora vs EZRoutePlanner

Routora began as a free fix for Google Maps' stop order. Past 10 stops it's a paid app, so the choice comes down to stop limits, price and how you like to work.

The short answer

EZRoutePlanner optimizes up to 30 stops a route free in any browser, where Routora's free tool stops at 10; Routora is the better pick if you want a native phone app or inspection reports. As listed on routora.com in October 2026, Routora's Chrome extension reorders a Google Maps route of up to 10 stops for free, and its Personal plan costs $17.99 a month ($14.49 billed yearly) for up to 100 stops, after a 7-day trial. EZRoutePlanner's paid plans start at $20 a month.

Choose Routora if

  • your route is already in Google Maps and has 10 stops or fewer
  • you want a native iPhone or Android app with voice and camera entry
  • you're an inspector who needs results, photos and a PDF report for each visit
  • you run a crew of up to 20 drivers and want one flat monthly price

Choose EZRoutePlanner if

  • you have more than 10 stops and want to optimize up to 30 of them free
  • your routes run past 100 stops (up to 200 on paid plans)
  • you plan on a computer in any browser, not only Chrome
  • you send routes to drivers who shouldn't have to install anything

01

What does the Routora Chrome extension do?

Routora started as a free Chrome extension. You build a route in Google Maps on a computer, click the Routora button, and it rearranges the stops for the shortest travel time, with driving, biking and walking modes. Because it works on top of Google Maps, it inherits Google's limit of 10 places a route, so it optimizes up to 10 stops.

As of October 2026, the Chrome Web Store lists version 1.93, last updated December 8, 2023, with 10,000 users and a 3.2 rating from 49 reviews. Reviewers there disagree about what's free: some say they were asked to pay, and Routora replied in 2024 that the extension is free and its paid planner is for routes past Google Maps' 10-stop limit. Some reviewers also report that it doesn't work in other browsers built on Chrome, such as Brave or Vivaldi.

For a short errand run already in Google Maps, the extension is a quick fix. For more than 10 stops you need something else: Routora's paid planner, or a planner like EZRoutePlanner that takes 30 stops a route free and opens the result back in Google Maps in links of 10 stops. Our Google Maps comparison explains the 10-stop limit.

Routora's time windows and balanced routes are described on its Teams and Routora Pro pages; Routora doesn't say whether Personal has them. Neither tool advertises live driver tracking or customer texts.

06

Routora's turn toward inspections, and what it means for you

Routora's newest work points at field inspections. Its App Store listing is now subtitled "Route Planner & Inspections", and version 2.0.1 of the iPhone app, released in October 2026, lets you record inspection results, notes and photos at each stop, mark up the photos and share a PDF report. Routora Pro, the plan in that app, is $20 a month and plans up to 500 inspection stops a day. A separate Routora for Government puts inspection routing on an ArcGIS map.

Routora for Teams adds a record of each stop too: its FAQ says members "can attach photos, signatures, and notes to every stop." Team plans include up to 7, 14 or 20 drivers, with balanced routes, ETAs and dispatch to each driver's app.

Ratings are mixed and come from a small number of reviews: 4.8 from 48 ratings on the App Store, and 2.5 from 90 reviews on Google Play, as of October 2026.

EZRoutePlanner doesn't record visits, photos or signatures. It plans the route and gets it to the driver. If you're an inspector who needs reports, Routora Pro does something EZRoutePlanner doesn't. If you only need the day's inspections in a sensible order, see route planning for home inspectors: the free plan covers 30 saved addresses.

The verdict: Routora for its app, EZRoutePlanner past 10 stops

Routora and EZRoutePlanner start from the same problem: Google Maps won't reorder your stops and won't take more than 10. Routora's free answer stays inside that limit. Its paid planner goes to 100 stops in a phone app for $17.99 a month.

Pick Routora if you want a native app, drive alone with lots of new stops each day, or need inspection reports. Pick EZRoutePlanner if your routes have more than 10 stops and you want them free (up to 30), if they run past 100 stops, or if you send routes to other drivers as links.

    Routora

The free extension reorders the route without leaving Google Maps.

  • Driver with more than 10 stops

    EZRoutePlanner

Free for up to 30 stops a route, and the result opens in Google Maps.

  • Owner sending routes to a few drivers

Questions people ask about Routora

Is Routora free?

Only the Chrome extension. It reorders a Google Maps route of up to 10 stops at no cost. Routora's web and phone planner, which you need for more than 10 stops, has a 7-day free trial and then costs $17.99 a month, or $14.49 a month billed yearly, as listed on routora.com in October 2026. EZRoutePlanner's free plan optimizes up to 30 stops a route with no trial clock.

How many stops can Routora optimize?

10 in the free Chrome extension, because it works inside Google Maps, which allows 10 places a route. The Personal plan optimizes up to 100 stops a route, and the Routora Pro app plans up to 500 inspection stops a day. Routora doesn't publish a stop limit for team plans. EZRoutePlanner takes 30 stops a route free and 200 on paid plans.

Does Routora work outside Chrome?

The free tool is a Chrome extension, and some reviewers on the Chrome Web Store say it doesn't work in Brave or Vivaldi. Routora's paid planner runs on the web and in its iPhone and Android apps. EZRoutePlanner runs in any browser, including Safari, Firefox and Edge, with no extension to install.

How much does Routora for Teams cost?

As listed on routora.com in October 2026: $75 a month for up to 7 drivers, $125 for up to 14 and $175 for up to 20, with a free trial. Teams include route balancing, ETAs, Excel and CSV upload, and dispatch to each driver's app. EZRoutePlanner doesn't charge per driver: plans follow saved addresses, from $20 a month, and drivers get a link.

Can I import a spreadsheet into Routora?

Yes, on the paid planner. Routora imports Excel and CSV files and stops pasted from the clipboard, and the phone app also takes voice, camera scanning and saved places. The free extension doesn't import anything: it only reorders a route already in Google Maps. EZRoutePlanner imports CSV and Excel files on every plan, including Free.

Is the Routora Chrome extension still updated?

Not recently. As of October 2026, the Chrome Web Store lists version 1.93, last updated December 8, 2023. Routora's newer work is in its web and phone apps; the iPhone app had a new version in October 2026, focused on inspections.

Does Routora have proof of delivery?

On team plans, yes: Routora says members can attach photos, signatures and notes to every stop. Routora Pro records inspection results and photos and builds PDF reports. EZRoutePlanner doesn't capture photos, signatures or proof of delivery, so Routora is the better fit when you need a record of each visit.

What's a free alternative to Routora for more than 10 stops?

EZRoutePlanner. Its free plan optimizes up to 30 stops a route and saves 30 addresses, in any browser, with no trial clock. It opens the finished route in Google Maps in links of 10 stops, so you still drive with the app you know.
